Anxiety No Longer Holds the Reins
There was a time when anxiety dictated my days. It crept into my thoughts, whispered fear into my heart, and overshadowed every moment that was meant for joy. If you’re reading this and you’re still in that battle, I want to tell you something: you are not alone, and this is not the end of your story.
Anxiety feels like a storm—loud, unrelenting, and disorienting. It tries to convince you that there’s no way out, that peace is unattainable. But let me share the truth with you: there is a way out, and His name is Jesus.
I remember the shift. It didn’t happen overnight, and it wasn’t always smooth, but one step at a time, I learned to let go of control and surrender to God’s hands. I stopped trying to silence the storm on my own and started calling on the One who walks on the storm.
God’s Word tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” This is not a hollow promise; this is an invitation to trade your fear for His peace.
When I finally accepted that God is my refuge, anxiety began to lose its grip. The weight on my chest became lighter, my breaths became deeper, and joy slowly found its way back into my life. It didn’t mean I never felt anxious thoughts again, but they no longer had control. Instead of being consumed by fear, I learned to cast it on Him.
And you can too.
If you are walking through anxiety today, I want you to know this: God sees you. He is close to you in your battle. Anxiety does not define you, and it does not get the final say. You are a daughter of the King, strong and capable because of His strength. No matter how dark the night feels, the dawn is coming. God is still writing your story, and He has a good plan for you.
Let’s Pray Together
Father God,
Thank You for Your love that reaches us in the darkest places. Lord, I lift up my sister reading this who feels overwhelmed by anxiety. You know her heart and the fears she carries. Remind her, Lord, that You are bigger than her fears and that Your peace is within reach.
God, break the stronghold of anxiety in her life. Where fear has taken root, plant Your peace. Where there is doubt, fill her with faith. Surround her with Your love and whisper truth into her heart—that she is safe in Your hands. Lord, strengthen her as she leans on You. Replace her heaviness with the lightness of Your presence.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
